The Sauvignon grape gets its name from the French word sauvage ("wild") and blanc ("white"). And this wine certainly lives up to it.
The Jumper Sauvignon Blanc, benefits from rich, stony soils with outstanding drainage as well as the cool, maritime climate of the sea-swept New Zealand coast.
It has incredibly bright flavors, a snappy acidity and a fresh, easy finish. This wine displays the shimmering, bright, green-white color that is a trademark of Sauvignon Blanc. As you swirl this wine in a glass, you'll notice how the fruity bouquet really opens up.
There Aromas of gooseberry, grapefruit and tropical fruit with fresh grass and mineral notes. I find the tropical notes are slightly more prevalent than the minerality. As you taste this wine you'll get Herbaceous and tropical fruit flavors--dry, zingy acidity that dances on your palate along with more tropical fruit undertones with citrus and passion fruit notes.
On the finish you're greeted with a pleasant tartness and delicious tropical fruit and herbal notes.
